This
is a summary of the responses that we have received
so far:
When
you're travelling through roadworks in Kent;
- 94%
of you would like to see a sign on the road
before the roadworks start
.
but only 28% have seen them!
- you'd
like to see a sign about two weeks to one
month before roadworks start and the information
you want on the sign is; the start and end
date, the reason for the works and who to
contact if you have a problem.
- to
improve your journey through the roadworks
you'd like: manual control of traffic lights
at peak times, alternative routes signed,
longer working hours and traffic lights only
at non-peak times.
- 85%
of you thought the route through roadworks
sites was easy to follow
.
but only 48% of you said the queues were fair
and 44% that the delays were reasonable.
- 77%
of you thought the repairs were completed
well.

For
those of you who had just lived next to roadworks;
- 48%
of you said that you'd like to receive a letter
through your letterbox a month before the
roadworks start letting you know what is going
to happen.

36% of you'd like to see a sign on the road
telling you about the roadworks before they
start.
- but
53% said you did not have either a letter
or sign before the roadworks started!

You want to be kept up to date with progress
by a letter, sign or notice board near the
work.
-
40% of you want to be able to contact our
engineer on site by phone.

of you want to be able to contact our engineer
on site by email.

but only 12% of you wanted to meet our engineer
by a regular 'surgery' on site.

Only 31% wanted longer working hours
.

83% said the finished works were an improvement.
